Bike trailer rental

SEE-Change rents out cargo and kids bike trailers for three months, as a way of encouraging you onto your bike for short shopping and visiting trips. We call the scheme 'BERT' - which stands for the Bicycle CO2 Emission Reduction Trial, and we designed it to help you 'try before your buy', knowing that trailers can be quite expensive. If you like your trailer, we can direct you to a retailer where you can buy your own.  

How does BERT work?

You pay $50 to rent the trailer for 3 months. We recommend that you join Pedal Power which includes insurance as part of the membership. (We don't ever want a Bertie to be involved in an accident, but it's always good to be safe). If you are interested in purchasing a trailer at the end of the hire period, we can help direct you to a supplier.  Please note that due to high demand, we no longer offer the trailers for purchase at the end of the hire period.
 

I'm interested in signing up - how do I do it?

You can download the hire agreement which explains our legal responsibilities and yours, then email Anne Clarke, our BERT co-ordinator, at admin@see-change.org.au.   We'll arrange a time to meet you to hand-over the trailer, take your form, show you how to attach the trailer and answer any questions you might have.
